260 days

It's 260 days since we began our new journey. We spent most of our time together in the following:

1) Sleeping zZzzZzz
2) House chores - cooking, washing & vaccuming
3) Browsing our own laptop side by side on bed, couch or in our closet/workroom..unlike the picture above haha
4) Church-related activities
5) Carpooling to work
6) Weekly time meeting up with friends and my sister

The highlight during the 260 days are our 3 trips to Japan, Koh Samui and San Diego.

Our evaluation for the new year is more time on the following:
1) Praying & bible reading
2) Chit-chat more about our lives other than church stuff haha
3) Exercise
4) Loving actions (i.e. suprise cheap gifts)
5) Private time in pursuing our hobbies (i.e. Roy learning guitar or Me doing my crafts)

May God grant us strength to dedicate time to do this.

小美人

We've deeply fall in love with 旺福 lately. They are a taiwan band and their song makes you happy and want to dance. We especially love 小美人 (click link to listen)

I cannot find the above song from youtube but i find DoRaMi (see below)

Came across this song from Vani's music collection; a collaboration of 農夫(rapper) & 林一峰.. sweet combination with intersting sparks for folk guitar and raps.
Apart from the music itself, the content of the song also raises my attention!
It is funny how ppl are seeing love now.
And it is so funny when the simple and naive attitude comparing the more "realistic" way of love nowadays.

Is love always related to $$? (or any other materials?)
Is that love when I can remember your birthday?
Is that love when I am willing to give you all I can afford (materials)?
Can't it be simpler and direct: I love, coz I am willing to sacrifice for you?
Is love just "似是陽光空氣", but not neccessarily as essential as 陽光 & 空氣?
haha interesting...

chan bb?!?

hehe today i showed Roy "Suri" - the baby of Tom & Kate Crusie (see left) because i thought the photographer did an excellent job in capturing the baby. Plus the post reminds me the portrait post we've been doing ourselves or asking our newly wed friends to do ...instead of looking at the baby, we were looking at the bouquet.

Roy's response was "I wonder how our baby will look like in the future...deep eyes, pretty or not, lots of hair?". When he says that, it rings the bell the talk we had at San Diego during a long bus ride (45 min from La Jolla to downtown), I asked Roy let's figure out a name we love. We started spelling out names from A to Z and we came to the name "Amos" (the same name as the prophet mentioned in the Bible) which we both like.

Spending sometime now looking at the meaning of "Amos". It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "to carry; borne by God." from thinkbabynames. I also came across a few sites with meanings "troubled", "burdened", "laden". The meaning definitely sounds heavy and i guess we shall revisit this name and see if anymore creative names hehe. But you know, people always coin Roy has a "Or fu" look (a chinese term meaning he will have daughters only)...so we might not need to think a boy name.

Finally, once you're married, your friends who are married already will start to talk to you openly about ways of preventing pregancy or ways of conceiving a baby. So i now learn having a baby is definitely a miracle and God's blessings coz the chance of getting pregnant is not easy. Just hope that no matter what, if God permits us having a baby, hope he or she will be born healthy.

Our love continues...

today is Tuesday, July 18th.
Carol and I have been married for a month and 15 days.
how does it feel?

AWESOME!!!

happy?

NEVER BEEN THIS HAPPY BEFORE!!!

excited?

YEAAAAA!!!

anxious but excited...

ever got this feeling before? worry about something but yet so excited while anticipating it to happen.
what is going to happen? I don't know. That's why it is exciting, and that's why I am worring.

I was down for a couple of days just to let the adrenalin to die down from the two big days. Not until couple days after the honeymoon, we started to realize we have to wake up and face the reality and our lives together. We started searching for new projects, new plans, etc... and most of all, we come before Him and bow down, give thanks to Our Lord of how He had prepared the day for us. I guess I should initiate more and pray with Carol frequently. I should ask her to confront ourselves to Him more frequently and start building a relationship in Him but not within us. Yea, that's the 1st thing I should start doing in spite of all the family plans or big projects. Because I have promised Him and Carol to be the head of the family only if we walk in His path.

So I guess, with Him, I shouldn't be afraid, nor should I be anxious. There are excitements waiting ahead for us to encounter. And this time I got Carol walking with me, and my Lord taking up my burden as always.

Thank you, for Your love and kindness to grant me such a beautiful wife, Lord!

no more energy ...leakin

sigh...
I don't have any more energy for the wedding planning anymore... seems i am leaking. I am so tired now. ...what would the balloon looks like if it continue to leak? I really feel like I am that balloon, well pumped at the first 3 quarters of the wedding planning; but when time get closer, and when there are still lots to carry out and with limited help, and at the same time I have to take care of people's feeling... I just don't have the "air" to carry on anymore... why do people always take advantage of us? were we too kind to be taken advantage of? or we were just not smart enough in relationships: on one hand we want to try our best for other's requests, but when we cannot satisfy their requests we were not appreciated? we are not as pure as a dove but smart like a snake? why do we have to care about others feeling when people are just taking advantage of us? the more i think about this, the more I leak out "air"... sigh...

Is time to put this feeling behind... and get on with my life... but how should I resolve the relationship? God, grant me the patience, the love, and perseverances

or a beer... cheers.. haha

time flies ... 2 more months ...

Kids...
I can still remember how innocent I were back in those days: life was easy. I can yell and cry for food and attention; I can ask for whatever I want and usually I can get it; I don't have a concept of wasting time and can day dream whatever and whenever I like; I don't have any responsbility except fufilling my desire... I AM the center... but why do people grow up with more burden and responsibility, and become less centered? Is it me who doesn't want to grow up, or this is something we have to go through and when we complain about this we are "immature"... huumm...

As the big day is approaching, my fear of having my family started to mount. There are more responsibilities: Carol, her family, her relatives, our children (if we have decided to have some; sigh.. scary.. I really can't imagine I may become father one day; and starting our family is one big step closer...)job and career, etc etc... For now, I can see some adjustment for both Carol and I in terms of personal space. Sometimes we want to be left alone, but when I know Carol wants to be left alone, I feel left out and question why she did that to me (and vice versa). I will ask "ain't I suppose to be what she longs for? won't you feel satisfied when u see me and all burden are taken off? why do you still need personal time?"... that's a silly quesiton. I think we won't be able to satisfied by people. Only GOD can satisfied us. He changes our way of looking at things, facing turmoils, or even changing things around. Man cannot do these miracles. Men are weak and not trustworthy... as if we were still a kid and look upon our father who can do things we cannot ... we will say "wa wa wa.. my dad is awesome"...

I think there is still a "kid" inside everyone's heart who longs for protection and a figure to look up to...
Lee On said" there is a 斷背山 in everyone's heart"; I think it should be: "there is a "kid" deep inside everyone's heart"... huummm... God, I hope I can look up upon you and learn your values and wisdom to handle things... pray that you are the statue of our family. Amen...

we can do it

yup we never grew fat in God's knowledge, grew thirsty for Jesus Christ but it's not too late.

Last Sunday, when i see you leading worship. I see a humble man, a man seeking for God. A man willing to repent and let God lead his life. I thank God for giving me this man for life. Don't know how it is unhead but if we dwell in his kingdom, seek his kingdom first, he'll for sure provide what we need. including how to be the head of the family hehe.

Today I've read this passage 2 Peter 1:3-9 (both English & Chinese)...may it encourage the two of us to become more like HIM. Luv u much bobo @_@

"3His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins."

"3 神 的 神 能 已 將 一 切 關 乎 生 命 和 虔 敬 的 事 賜 給 我 們 , 皆 因 我 們 認 識 那 用 自 己 榮 耀 和 美 德 召 我 們 的 主 。
4 因 此 , 他 已 將 又 寶 貴 又 極 大 的 應 許 賜 給 我 們 , 叫 我 們 既 脫 離 世 上 從 情 慾 來 的 敗 壞 , 就 得 與 神 的 性 情 有 分 。
5 正 因 這 緣 故 , 你 們 要 分 外 地 殷 勤 ; 有 了 信 心 , 又 要 加 上 德 行 ; 有 了 德 行 , 又 要 加 上 知 識 ;
6 有 了 知 識 , 又 要 加 上 節 制 ; 有 了 節 制 , 又 要 加 上 忍 耐 ; 有 了 忍 耐 , 又 要 加 上 虔 敬 ;
7 有 了 虔 敬 , 又 要 加 上 愛 弟 兄 的 心 ; 有 了 愛 弟 兄 的 心 , 又 要 加 上 愛 眾 人 的 心 ;

2 months and 10 days ...

the toddler time of carol and roy. so innocent, so cute, and so simple in life.
yea, carol are picking the photos for slide show preparation. it was a good laugh when i see carol's cute little face, and how fat and cute she was... hahahahahahaa it was amazing.
unfortunately, i feel bad to see myself blowing up since primary school: just like a balloon.

well, appearance is nothing, but have I grow up like a balloon in knowledge, love, kindness and the thirst for God? I don't think so. I have never been a fat person: faithful, available and teachable. sigh... that's really sad. the more I evaluate myself, the more I feel bad coz I really have nothing to brab about... but just feel sorry and sad. No, Roy, you really have to change, and turn into one that can be depended on. your new family needs you; Carol needs you... you are a "head" now. there is pressure, but I think I can bare.

Reviewing the title, it is really hard for two become one... really hard... where should I start?

huuummmmm

Chasing with Time

Only 2 months & 20 days left and there are still many to-dos. The past week i felt so exhausted that i couldn't find rest in God.

But today just randomly opened up the bible and came to Samuels 14:36-15:35 and here Samuel said to King Saul

"Did you think all GOD wants are sacrifices – empty rituals just for show? He wants you to listen to him! Plain listening is the thing, not staging a lavish religious production. Not doing what GOD tells you is far worse than fooling around in the occult. Getting self-important around GOD is far worse than making deals with your dead ancestors. Because you said No to God’s command, he says No to your kingship"

oh boy oh boy it's just very simple ...just stop everything and listen to God. Just all that simple instead of running around for the good of myself.

Also went up to jj959 and really amazed to see how Kit has growed spritually...really happy and give thanks to God for her growth. I feel ashamed when i see how good others are...it always feel like chasing time to grow smarter and smarter but no this is not what God wants. He wants us to simply submit to HIM and listen to HIM.

Roy: i know you've a lot of burdens but don't worry...muimui is here with you. I know you're th e one that God has prepared for me and we can grow & learn together on how to be a good husband and wife...how to be good worker and how to be a good daughter/son. Most of all, we can experience the growing struggles together. We might not be mature or as smart but We got four hands now and things should be more efficient than before hehe

i.e. i read a book & i can tell you all about it...and you read another book and tell me all about it....and we can cook together and do house chores together...

:D yeah thank you lord for giving you to me

luv,
mui @_@

2 months and 23 days to go

time really flies. and i have really been lazy... with 2 months and 23 days to go, carol and I are getting really nervous. we are very nervous with all the preparation: banquet, decoration, reception, our speech, the gowns, the jewelerys, cards, name tags... you name it... everything. and i have complained about how we were disconnected. it is now carol's turn of not getting the attention needed from me. i really find that we are really affecting ea. other.

sometimes i think: why should we get marry? why now? would it be better if we get marry next year instead? but there is one thing for sure: i never question if she is the one. coz i know SHE IS THE ONE! don't know why... hahaha. i just pray that we not only get along, we can also affect ppl in a good way too. back to the timing qs. i think this is a good time coz i want to start a family with carol. we are getting to the rite age, even though we may not be as mature as we think, may not look as mature as we are. but i think it is always good to have someone to grow with, to experience life with, to be the soul mate, to experience all sorts of things in live. since i know she is the one, then why should i wait? silly qs roy...

during these days, my struggles keeps on growing: will i be a good husband? will i be the bread feeder? will i get thin enough and look good in time? will i be mature enough to handle carol as well as the stress that i am going through? alot of qs are poping up... sigh... and we are getting tired. I got pressure from work and from job hunting as well. I thought i got the experience, and i thouhgh i got enough to compete with the rest of the world... but i really find that i am dumb and not smart enough. how can i grow? how can i get smart enough? how can i learn and rely on you more, obey you more, Lord?

You loved me, when i was so unworthy
you found me, when i was lost...

this is really a very strong song!! think about your love, think about your goodness.... and how can it seems to be so far away from me, roy? it is not, it is really really close!!!!

Roy, open your eyes, and see how God is loving you, granting all that you are not worthy for... giving you Carol as your wife, giving you all the stuffs you are not suppose to have... and yet, you are still not happy, and not giving thanks for them, and not treasuring them...

Roy, open your eyes!!!!

six more months to go......

exactly one month after our last blog, we come back from our hectic life to my jag laggin, flu suffereing time on bed, writing our journey to our marriage. I realize how lazy I am from not working on this "journal" and finally pick it up from the very beginning. Now, six months to go. I think Carol is getting excited. I am as always excited, but still embarassed to talk about my wedding day in front of people. May be I am not used to the spot light? Don't want to be "put on the table"? anyway. just don't want to be under the spot light only because of the marriage i guess? o well, may be this is something i have to get used to. After all it is my highlight of my life and I should not feel embarrased to be joyful and happy about my marriage.

Ok, let me catch up on our trip back to HK and some thoughts I have developed. It was hectic, tiring, ma farn but yet exciting and enjoyable!!! I am suprised Carol and I enjoy the fast pace in HK and complained about how "slow" it is here (more on this later). It is tiring because we have to find stuffs in HK if we want it cheap but in quality. Apprently we have failed and settled with the good quality stuffs by paying more hahaa. It was hectic because we have to find the stuffs for our wedding and on top we have to attend many dinners or lunches to meet our relatives and friends. We are out most of the time and have seldom stayed home, relaxed or watching TV. but honestly, we have went through a lot! i felt like we are like a team: Carol is good at looking out for stuffs for the big day, spoting special things that is of quality in reasonable price; I will judge whether that thing is good to have and make the final decision after gathering all facts. Carol is real good on gathering all the items and remember every single detail for the wedding while i worked on the relational things and deal with our relatives, friends and parents. What a Team!!! well, it was rough at start and we often argue especially when all things went over budget or Carol is being "siu mui mui" and "dou mei" (pouring rice) or in-decisive. and I was being whinny, keep on bragging about out of budget and keep on calculating how much we have and getting worried on what to do etc... suen la... looking back, i enjoy the fight we have coz that means we are both trying to make things work, and most of all we developed the communication pattern and are willing to share the hard feeling inside but not hiding from ea other. But yes carol, sorry, i should work on my tone. hehhee

ok that's for now, more later.

.... to be contined

dinner with lung gor/lung meow

last nite ate with lung gor & his meow meow...we are all tired..but had a bit of good chat...should have ate during weekend

this morning mui mui had troublesome in taking care of the minor car mirror accident...have to run to different shops quote at mastercraft was about $500 incl. tax (w/ new mirror glass)
hopefully..it'll be solved either by mastercraft or on suk (still waiting for quote)

i'm still thinking the card design...and run into many stumble blocks...don't know what to say...
should it be simple as no particular wordings or sentence? I found some interesting phrases from www.passing-notes.com incl.

Carefully unfolds God’s faithful hands in their lives ....

God’s plan was revealed for both of us...

From this day forth stems our love, two lives interwind in the marriage of...

I personally like the words "share", "interwind", "unfold" and it will be cool if i include them in the card invitation.

Another phrase that i should be using is:

"Reception is follow at 1:30 at the golf course"

i'm not sure whether i should use bible verses like
"We love because God first loved us" 1 John 4:19

keep thinking

survivor...

after battling with the cold that has been hiding in my system, i feel only a bit better. Seems that some of it is still inside me. so forgot a blog a day will make us stay... hahahahah anyway, i will continue this routine and hopefully this will turn out funny / great.

last nite' s talk with law law was fun, and yet supportive. i found that we are quite similar: youngest in the family, lazy, self centered, but caring, deep thinking, non-verbal...etc etc... but one big difference: a family with God and one without... sigh.... this is such a big difference. when he talked about how he wanted to be a great father etc etc it reminds me of my father: the great, knowledgeable and caring father of mine. if he does not exist while i was growing up (well, even though he was not physically exist in my space, but his dominence thru fax and phone was touching and still effective), i don't know what i will become - may be more feminine and whinny? hahahahaha yea.. too much female figures while i grow up during age of 18 - 21 and i slowly realize this is not rite and i can't make a male out of this group. hor hor hor... that's why i still have some feminie side.. sorry carol i hope i didn't scare you away. but honestly, as the time for me to become somebodies' husband, a potential dad, etc etc, pressure is on and it is defintely a new challenge to me. it is not only the fun we will have; not only a companionship, but also facing hardship together, living together and getting into ea other's space; supporting ea other when we are going thru the same thing; to love, to have patience, to have kindness and don't speak stupidly or act ridiculously to harm ea other and to get our own way; to be considerate, and slowly change our habits to accomdate ea other........ long list of to dos and it may not be as happy or romantic as it may seem. But I still want to do it coz i know I love carol and i know we will be like my parents: holding hands even though we are "lo-fuu-lo-cheai" (married for so long). I know God will be in our relationship as He is the one that pull us together, He is the one to hold us together. I can only hope, and try my best to be at least 1/2 of what my dad has become. I really hope i can.

Dad, the ultimate survivor, applause.... : )
